FEI Company opens a new building in Brno to place in it the development of its microscopes.Thus it becomes the most efficient plant within the whole company. 10 November 2010 – The FEI Company seated in U.S.A. extends its base in Brno Technological Park and opens new premises. The long-term growth of the Brno plant‘s importance was augmented by the announcement in the spring this year of the displacement of the Small DualBeam™ microscope production series from Eindhoven in the Netherlands right to Brno, which represents approximately USD 60 milion of the annual global turnover of the whole company. “By this move the Brno plant became the most efficient unit of the whole company and thanks to it, and also with regard to a planned further development of FEI, the capacities of the Brno plant ceased to be sufficient,” says Jiří Očadlík, Vice President Operations FEI, and adds: „Since April the staff number of the Brno FEI increased by 60 and is still not final. So that at the time being we offer before all senior positions aimed at product engineering and other technical positions.“ |
Phase II. – Central Zone16th October 2010 - Today the Technology Park was issued a valid planning permit or Uzemni Rozhodnuti for the Park’s second Phase Central Zone following a successful design process and permit application. The permit issued covers the first four office buildings planned within this next Phase which are grouped around a central water feature and surrounded by a landscaped park and lake. Building A will become the Park’s main reception and management centre and will provide services and retail functions with additional restaurant and catering options, convenience supermarket, bank, post office, medical clinic, crèche, pharmacy and fitness centre as well as a business centre and conference facilities. Development of the first buildings in this second phase is planned to commence early in 2012. |
New Premises for FEEC BUT7 October 2010 – The new building costing almost half a billion crowns planted on the Pod Palackého vrchem campus made it possible to concentrate in one place all twelve institutes of the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Communication, Brno University of Technology. Some of them had been scattered around the town and both employees and students welcome their relocation to one spot; the students will now take only a few minutes to get to school. The construction cost was CZK 486,132,000 of which BUT paid CZK 61m from its own resources and the rest was financed by the Ministry of Education. The premises were designed by HEXAPLAN INTERNATIONAL. It is a set of modern buildings containing extensive lecture halls and research laboratories as well as an assembly hall for 260 students. There is also a students‘ canteen and a relaxation zone. |
